In “defense” of Mormonism

Folks, I left this “defense” of Mormonism in the religion board at Free Republic and I thought it was worthwhile to repost here. Let the chips fall where they may.

I think this is all so unfair. Mormonism is simply non-Nicean, non-Constatinopolitan, non-Ephesian, non-Chalcedonian, non-Constatinopolitan II, non-Constatinopolitan III, non-Nicean II, non-Constatinopolitan IV, non-Lateran, non-Lateran II, non-Lateran III, non-Lateran IV, non-Lyonese, non-Lyonese II, non-Viennese, non-Constancian, non-Lateran V, non-Tridentine, non-Vatican, non-Vatican II Christianity. And what’s wrong with that? So is most of the Protestant world. :-p

Both true and absolutely hilarious! However, to be fair, many Protestants are monotheist, something which no self-respecting Mormon could possibly accept.

Most amusing post. Brightened up my Saturday morning in a way that the newspaper comics failed.

Well... Protestants are are pick and choosers. They hold some of the principals and beliefs set forth by some of the councils... Mormonism, pretty much lays all that to waste. I spent a good long 2 years with a whole family of them... working beside them. In the end I was fired because my faith threatened them... their Nephew came out of it :)

Mormonism is the worst house of cards construct I can think of. It has an awful lot of smart dummies... duped the chief demon, and he's laughing all the way home.
